Description
Discover Jamie Oliverโs quick yeast-free Airfryer bread. This hearty whole-grain loaf is packed with oats, aromatic rosemary, and optionally cheese. Ready in under an hour, itโs a perfect easy bread for breakfast or sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 250 g whole wheat flour (spelt flour possible)
- 150 g wheat flour Type 405 (optional for dusting)
- 100 g oats (use gluten-free for GF version)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (dried can be used)
- 1 organic egg (vegan alternative: flaxseed meal + water)
- 200 ml buttermilk or yogurt (substitute: milk + vinegar)
- 100 g Red Leicester or Cheddar (reduced-fat or omit)
- For topping:
- 50 g additional oats
- 1 tsp coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the airfryer to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF).
- In a bowl, combine flours, oats, baking soda, and rosemary.
- In another bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk (or substitute), then mix in grated cheese if using.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients into a thick dough.
- Shape dough into a loaf and place in greased or parchment-lined airfryer basket.
- Sprinkle with extra oats and sea salt.
- Airfry for 25โ30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- Use flax egg for a vegan version.
- Check bread after 20 minutes as airfryer models vary.
- Great served warm with butter or your favorite spread.
