Description
This 10-Minute Flatbread is a quick and easy homemade bread made without yeast. Soft on the inside with a lightly crisp exterior, it’s brushed with garlic herb oil for incredible flavor. Perfect as a side for soups, curries, grilled meats, or served as a snack with your favorite dips.
Ingredients
- 350 g all-purpose flour (about 2¾ cups)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 60 ml vegetable or olive oil (about ¼ cup)
- 120 ml water (about ½ cup)
- 2–3 garlic cloves, pressed
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
- Mixed fresh or dried herbs (parsley, oregano, or Italian herbs)
- Optional: pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and optional salt.
- Add the oil and water, then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead gently for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into 4–6 equal portions and roll each into a flat round about ½ cm thick.
- Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown with light charred spots.
- Mix the pressed garlic with the olive oil and herbs, then brush generously over the warm flatbreads.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Add grated Parmesan to the garlic oil for extra flavor.
- These flatbreads are delicious with hummus, tzatziki, or garlic butter.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheat in a skillet.
- For a softer texture, keep the cooked flatbreads covered with a clean kitchen towel.
